A mobile recipe app that helps families preserve, share, and discover cherished recipes across generations — with AI recipe scanning and full offline access.

Overview

TwinCurrent built My Family Recipes, a family recipe app for iOS and Android — live on both app stores since 2026. It turns scattered recipe cards, cookbook pages, and screenshots into a shared family collection: grandparents add the recipes they have cooked for decades; grandchildren cook from them on their phones.

Backed by a Rust/Axum API, the app reached version 3.0 within two months of the first release, with AI-powered scanning and offline access as the headline features.

A single React Native codebase ships native apps to both stores, talking to a Rust/Axum API over PostgreSQL. Recipes sync down to the device so the full collection is available in the kitchen with or without a connection.

AI vision handles digitisation: point the camera at a handwritten card, a cookbook page, or a URL, and the app extracts ingredients, steps, and metadata automatically — removing the manual typing that stops most people from preserving family recipes.
